ARCATA--  The future has arrived at the Yurok Reservation in Northern California. Historically the entire reservation, including every public safety agency, were forced to share a single T1 line causing communications bottlenecks and slower than dial-up connections. 

ARCATA-- TV White Space is making big news.  It is an untapped resource that offers abundant amounts of unlicensed spectrum whose signal can penetrate almost any obstacle, from trees to walls, which is especially important in rural areas.

ARCATA, CA— The Yurok Tribe of Northern California signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Carlson Wireless, making them the first native tribe in the nation to utilize available TV white space to bring broadband capabilities to their currently underserviced remote areas. 

Carlson Wireless CEO Jim Carlson and Sales Engineer Kiely Cronin recently attended Animal Farm, a conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, to talk about TV white-space technology and to pit the new LongHaul ST against competitors in an event called the Backhaul Bake-Off.

Arcata, Calif. Oct. 27, 2010--Carlson Wireless Technologies will be exhibiting at the Broadband Expo in Dallas, Tex. Nov. 1-2, an event that focuses on “extending technology to rural America.”
