The LongHaul TDM is a software-based TDM radio—not an IP radio. While other companies claim that their IP radios can go the distance, only the LongHaul TDM uses Carlson’s proprietary TrueTDM™ protocol. Time-division multiplexing (TDM) technology enables the LongHaul TDM to achieve distances far beyond that of traditional IP radios with unprecedented reliability.

T1/E1 Interface Option

The LongHaul T1 solution provides multiple T1s at an amazing range beyond 60 miles with excellent signal strength. Carlson’s revolutionary SWiFT platform allows the LongHaul TDM radio combined with the LongHaul T1 interface to operate as a point-to-point IP bridge that doesn’t degrade at the usual distances of traditional Wi-Fi signals. The SWiFT platform supports TDM-to-IP migration and is both legacy compatible and future proof, making the LongHaul TDM and T1 interface combo the most affordable and truly interoperable radio solution available. Providing a constant user data throughput of 16/32 Mb/s at distances up to 60 miles, the LongHaul TDM series radio with SWiFT platform eliminates packet collisions, thus optimizing wireless VoIP system and media streaming performance.

Utilizing a “daisy-chain” configuration, the ST’s 20-mile range can be extended infinitely without sacrificing performance. The ST’s increased data rate and multiple security and encryption options make it an attractive option for surveillance networks, municipal governments or any user looking to transmit high-quality video at high speeds without laying wire or fiber.

Best-in-Class Throughput, Latency and Network-Monitoring Capabilities

Combined with the available 270 Mbps over-the-air (OTA) rate, the ST’s integrated four-port gigabit Ethernet switch allows the device to achieve data throughputs in excess of 100 Mbps.

If high throughput and low latency aren’t enough for your application, LongHaul ST also incorporates the tools needed to fine-tune network settings, manage bandwidth allocation and prioritize different network tasks—all from within the included graphic user interface (GUI).

LongHaul ST is especially efficient in forming a “daisy-chain” network, extending its own 20-mile range five, six or even a dozen times. In an independent field test, LongHaul ST experienced no signal degradation in a daisy-chain network with five links.

Using the LongHaul ST, buildings that are miles apart can be connected wirelessly on the same digital network, extending PBX systems and systems networks.
